L.A. Lakers fan nails half-court shot to win $35,000

Only this weekend, an Oklahoma City Thunder fan sunk a half-court shot to win $20,000. The Chesapeake Energy Arena erupted as the lucky fan nailed the 47-foot shot. 

Basketball teams up and down North America often offer fans the chance to win a cash prize if they can sink the ball from the logo, but not many people are lucky enough to succeed.

Well, there was another successful attempt at the Lakers' recent game with the Phoenix Suns.

As if the fan was not happy enough about watching his beloved Lakers move above .500 for the first time since November 2013, he took home $35,000, courtesy of Bellagio Las Vegas, after being given the opportunity from half-court.

With a running start, the fan unleashed a shot from the chest that found nothing but net as it arrived at the basket - much to the delight of himself, the fans inside Staples Center and the players.

Pointing to his arm, the fan used D'Angelo Russell's signature 'ice in my veins' celebration to acknowledge his clutch shot.

The man in question is a regular commenter on the NBA and Lakers subreddits and his fellow Redditors were quick to congratulate the man who goes by the username 'Lakerswiz'.
