It's fair to say that Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't expecting to jump out of his skin at any point during his filming for the release of his new boots.
The Real Madrid man has just penned a new deal with Real Madrid, but is back in his homeland for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Latvia at the weekend, though he had a few promotional duties to take care of first.
Only the promo didn't run as smoothly as expected, thanks to the appearance of an unexpected guest.
Acting on behalf of Ronaldo's international teammate Ricardo Quaresma, Ricky Regufe – a mutual friend of both men – decided to give the 31-year-old a moment to remember in what appears to be an ongoing prank war.
Earlier in the year, Ronaldo set up the Besiktas star in a prank of his own, one that saw him cover Quaresma's car in tin foil.
However, Ronaldo wasn't in the mood to let his international colleague wonder who had gone to so much trouble to mummify his motor and left a giant spray painted 'CR7' on the side.
But Quaresma wasn't going to take this lying down, and teamed up with Regufe to help him get his own back.
All three men spoke about the incidents on Twitter, with Regufe even claiming that he had been in on it from the start and regularly lurked Ronaldo's Instagram page in order to get some ideas about what he could do.
And while Ronaldo is known for throwing a tantrum or two, he took the prank in good humour and even used the resulting back slapping to his advantage by using it as further promotion for the new Nike Mercurial boots he had initially been advertising.
Surely there will be more to come in this 'war' as Ronaldo will no doubt use the PR to prank his friend again while promoting something.
Time will tell...
