The NFL named policing celebrations as a point of emphasis for the 2016 season and that has led to a very steep rise in excessive celebration and taunting penalties.

LeBron however has shared his opinion on the new scheme.

"the fun part of it is kind of being taken away. And I know when I played football, I played it for that reason. For the competition, one, and for the fun of it." - LeBron on the NFL

Not everyone is of the opinion that the constant penalties are the reason for the declining ratings, some analysts have pinned the blame on the coverage of the 2016 US Presidential election.

While the election is one possible reason for the dip in ratings, another could be some of the games that have been given national coverage.

A 6-6 tie between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks took centre stage on Sunday Night Football several weeks ago.

The NFL certainly has some work to do is it is hoping to turn it's declining ratings around, but could they increase following the resolution of the Presidential race?

Antonio Brown may certainly hope so....
