Manchester United fans will remember Pione Sisto pretty well.

The 21-year-old stunned the Red Devils in last season’s Europa League, scoring the opener for FC Midtjylland in a surprise 2-1 win.

Sisto was at it again one week later, scoring at Old Trafford in a 5-1 defeat.

His rise to La Liga can perhaps best be illustrated by his ratings in FIFA over the past three editions of EA Sports’ hugely successful video game.

In a story brought to our attention by the Sport Bible, Sisto’s FIFA rating has been on an upward trajectory ever since his first appearance in the game in FIFA 14.

From 45 to 74

Then 18, the winger was given an overall rating of 45. His dribbling was 45, his shooting was 41 and his passing was 42. Sisto was pretty much terrible.

Fast forward to FIFA 17 and Sisto’s card is significantly better. His dribbling is 79, his shooting is 72 and his pace is up from 69 to 83; his overall rating is over 74.

Bravo, sir. That’s an increase of 29 over four years.

Bright future

The youngster, who was born in Uganda but moved to Denmark at an early age, is tipped for an incredibly bright future.

He’s certainly a man for the big occasion. After scoring in both legs against Manchester United last season, Sisto opened the scoring for Celta in their 4-3 win over Barcelona in October.

If FIFA included a ‘clutch’ rating, Sisto’s would probably be 99.

Dedication

Morten Morch, a commentator at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, reckons Sisto’s attitude will serve him well in his football career.

“Dedication is the main reason for Sisto's success,” Morch said, per FourFourTwo.

“He’s been training more than everyone else ever since he was a kid – and he still does. He’s humble, he understands that it takes hard work to make it to the top, and he wants to win.

“Pione appears to have the mentality of a top player.”
