Cristiano Ronaldo wields a significant amount of power at Real Madrid and you suspect if he wanted Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane to sign a specific player they would listen.
The 31-year-old, who is expected to win the 2016 Ballon d’Or award ahead of Lionel Messi, has just earned himself a new five-year contract at the Bernabeu and is now expected to end his career with the Spanish giants - despite the fact he plans on playing on until his 40s.

Ronaldo names the player he would sign for Madrid
However, Ronaldo instead went for another of his compatriots, the Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro.
"Perhaps my team-mate in Portugal, Raphael Guerreiro,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying by Goal.
Guerreiro is a star in the making
In fairness to Ronaldo, Guerreiro is a fantastic full-back with an extremely bright future ahead of him.
Only 22, the French-born defender is already a European Champion - he was part of the Portugal side that won Euro 2016 in the summer - and is playing regularly for Dortmund following his €12 million summer move from Lorient.
Wonder what Marcelo will make of Ronaldo's answer...
But we’re not sure that Marcelo - and, to a lesser extent, Fabio Coentrao - will be particularly happy with Ronaldo’s answer.
The former Manchester United star, however, was put on the spot by the journalist and he answered honestly.
If Guerreiro continues his current career trajectory, it wouldn’t be a shock if Madrid did attempt to sign him in the future.
For now, though, Guerreiro is very much a Borussia Dortmund player while Los Blancos are more than happy with Marcelo.
The attack-minded Brazilian full-back is a reliable performer for Madrid and doesn’t turn 29 until May.
