It's been an agonising wait for Liverpool but finally, after 26 long years, they look ready to end their wait for English title glory.

Under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds are firing on all cylinders and currently sit top of the Premier League on 26 points after 11 games, above Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

There's a new-found confidence and energy about Liverpool who, with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane spearheading their attack, can't stop scoring at present.

Thirty goals in 11 games is a remarkable return and a testament to the heavy metal style of football Klopp has brought with him to Anfield from Borussia Dortmund.

FIFA Ultimate Team ratings are often an accurate representation of how players and teams have improved, with Liverpool's players no different when comparing their FIFA 13 and FIFA 17 stats.

For example, Coutinho is rated 85 on the latest instalment but scored a lowly 78 four years ago, albeit as a curly-haired 20-year-old from Brazil.

Here's how the ratings of Liverpool's starting XI on FIFA 17 compare to FIFA 13.

GK - LORIS KARIUS

FIFA 13 - 61

FIFA 17 - 82

What a difference four years can make, with Loris Karius jumping from 61 to 82 since turning out for Mainz 05 as a fresh-faced 19-year-old in 2012.

RB - NATHANIEL CLYNE

FIFA 13 - 73

FIFA 17 - 81

Nathaniel Clyne was highly rated as a youngster and he's now the Premier League's fourth highest-rated right-back at Liverpool.

CB - DEJAN LOVREN

FIFA 13 - 79

FIFA 17 - 82

Not the biggest improvement but, after a difficult start to life at Liverpool, Dejan Lovren has developed into a consistent and solid centre-back.

CB - JOEL MATIP

FIFA 13 - 77

FIFA 17 - 82

Judging by the start Joel Matip has made to life at Liverpool, I think we can expect another upgrade to 83 or 84 when his rating is reviewed.

LB - JAMES MILNER

FIFA 13 - 80

FIFA 17 - 81

Nothing says consistency like retaining your rating over four years, with James Milner receiving a minimal - if underwhelming - +1 boost.

CDM - JORDAN HENDERSON

FIFA 13 - 74

FIFA 17 - 80

Like Milner, Jordan Henderson is a touch underrated on FIFA 17 and probably deserves somewhere nearer 82, which would better portray his rise.

CDM - EMRE CAN

FIFA 13 - 65

FIFA 17 - 80

p1b19v34tn180d1pdeejl1tmg33ef.jpg

Emre Can has the potential to be a world-class midfielder, as suggested by his incredible +15 rise from FIFA 13 to FIFA 17.

RM - ADAM LALLANA

FIFA 13 - 77

FIFA 17 - 82

Adam Lallana has always been a very gifted player and 77-82 accurately represents how he has improved over the years, both at Southampton and Liverpool.

CAM - PHILIPPE COUTINHO

FIFA 13 - 78

FIFA 17 - 85

p1b19v3ggbgr8dmd1t4914uv1vcvh.jpg

It's been some rise for Philippe Coutinho, who has the world at his feet having risen from a youngster at Inter Milan to one of the Premier League's best attacking midfielders.

LM - SADIO MANE

FIFA 14 - 69

FIFA 17 - 79

Incredibly, Sadio Mane didn't even exist on FIFA 13, so we're using his FIFA 14 rating instead. The Senegalese is another who deserves a higher rating than 79.

ST - ROBERTO FIRMINO

FIFA 13 - 77

FIFA 17 - 82

Doubt surrounded Roberto Firmino's £29 million move to Liverpool in 2015, but his 82 rating from FIFA 13's 77 will only increase if he keeps scoring.
