Being the favorite on every night that you play means that you will have a target on your back. The Golden State Warriors are leaning into their status as league-wide villains this season. As everyone on the outside boos the “Super Team”, the players are coming together more each game.

Draymond Green is the most vocal member of a team with two former MVPs and he took to Instagram on Friday night to have a little fun with his teammates. JaVale McGee apparently has a drone camera and he helped snap the photo.

The drone picture shows the entire roster standing together under a group of silver balloon letters that read “Super Villains” in an arc above it. Steph Curry is smiling wide near the Shaqtin-A-Fool champion. Kevin Durant, Green, Andre Iguodala and Patrick McCaw are all paying attention.

Then there’s Klay Thompson, who can’t even be bothered to look up from his phone to make the group shot. Team bonding is definitely on the rise with the newly constructed Dubs and they are looking to avoid the pitfalls of the star studded teams that came before them.

The Miami Heat’s “Big 3” struggled with being hated by the entire league in 2011 and so did the Lakers in 2013. Golden State seems positive although slightly annoyed by that line of questioning at this point.

They know that the only thing that will get most fans off their backs is to win.

New Orleans Pelicans v Golden State Warriors

Losing to the Lakers this week was a speed bump but, the team weathered that loss and is now riding a three-game winning streak. Chef Curry claimed the NBA record for most three-point shots made in a game this week with 13.

Things are all going according to plan in the Bay and if things continue this way, the “bad guys” might just end up winning it all this year.
