Summer Rae was once considered to have been one of the batch of NXT women who looked like they would redefine women's wrestling on the main roster one day.
The former NXT Superstar had a great run on the main roster along with Fandango when she was first promoted, but it seems that her career has gone downhill since she was aligned with Rusev.
Summer hasn't been seen on WWE TV since July when she was put in endless job matches against the likes of Alicia Fox, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, but she has finally revealed the reason for her absence.

BATTLING AN INJURY
Summer hasn't wrestled a WWE match since August and hasn't made a single appearance on the Raw roster that she was drafted to in July, this has led to many fans lobbying Raw GM Mick Foley for her to make a return since there was never an official announcement about her injury.
The WWE superstar herself shared a lengthy Instagram post this morning stating that she was recovering carefully from an injury, one that she originally chose to hide from the WWE Universe.
She wrote: "Well it's almost mid-November now, so maybe it's time to answer the question I get flooded with every single day on social media. For the past 2 & a half months, I have been dealing with an injury. I've been very private & not shared my journey during this time. I don't know why that is actually. Perhaps talking about it & putting a spotlight on it makes it more real & that wasn't something I was ready for.

LENGTHY RECOVERY TIME
"For 9 years I've been lucky to lead a healthy athletic career in both football & wrestling so these aren't things or emotions I've had to experience before. I've gone thru so many emotions during this time but been very private with it all. I love what I do. I am absolutely in love with wrestling & the WWE universe. It's so unique & unlike anything else in the world!
"In this business, you just go go go & putting your body on the line every night becomes second nature & you don't think much of it. But that isn't a normal thing. Our bodies aren't made to do this. But you forget that when you hear the roar of the crowd!"
Many fans believed that Summer Rae could have made her WWE return as part of the Raw women's team for Survivor Series and were quite vocal about their disappointment when Alicia Fox was added instead. It seems Summer Rae will remain on the WWE sidelines for the foreseeable future, with the likes of Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte leading Raw's women's division.
