Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson is just one of the many celebrities paying their tributes after UFC ‘legend' Conor McGregor wrote his name in the history books last night by being the first to hold two belts simultaneously, at featherweight and at lightweight.
The Irishman secured the UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden last night with a near-perfect performance against his opponent Eddie Alvarez, whom he scored a technical knock-out in the second round, in what was a one-sided fight.
Arguably the biggest night of his life, McGregor managed to see it through and now holds both featherweight and lightweight belt, making him the first to do so in UFC.
His travelling fans joined him in celebration last night in New York, while his overseas fans showed their support on social media, including Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who posted an image of the champion with the caption ‘legend’.
Henderson wasn't the only sports person to be impressed by McGregor, and clearly McGregor has made a big impression as even tough act Joey Barton came out to congratulate the Irishman on twitter.
