While Jurgen Klopp might say otherwise, there can be no denying that Liverpool are genuine Premier League title contenders this season.

The Reds have been nothing short of fantastic and currently find themselves top of the table, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal the chasing pack.

Through the attacking quartet of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane, Liverpool can't stop scoring at the moment and, quite frankly, look unstoppable.

Thirteen months on from his arrival and Klopp has successfully integrated his famous 'gegenpressing' philosophy, with the results there for all to see.

Liverpool have blown away most of their 11 opponents this season - but how did they fare against the very same 11 sides during the 2015/16 term?

NB. Hull City and Burnley weren't in the Premier League last campaign, so they've been replaced by similar games against Norwich City and Newcastle United.

THE RESULT

2016/17: PLAYED 11, WON 8, DREW 2, LOST 1, GF 30, GA 14, GD +16 = 26 POINTS

2015/16: PLAYED 11, WON 4, DREW 4, LOST 3, GF 11, GA 10, GD +1 = 16 POINTS

What a difference a year makes. Against the same opponents last year, Liverpool won 16 out of a possible 33 points and scored just 11 goals.

This time around, they've secured 10 more points and found the back of the net 30 times, albeit conceding 14 goals.

However, one issue remains for Klopp's men: dropping points against lesser sides.

Liverpool failed to beat Swansea, Newcastle, West Brom and Norwich last season, and this time around, they've lost to Burnley.
