Despite spending £150 million in the summer transfer window, Jose Mourinho is adamant that this Manchester United squad isn’t ‘his’.
The Portuguese boss will no doubt love to spend some more money in the upcoming transfer windows but, the fact is, he will have to sell players before he can buy again.
There’s no shortage of players that could potentially leave the club in order for Mourinho to raise some transfer funds, though. It certainly doesn’t take a genius to work out that Mourinho clearly doesn’t think many United players are good enough to feature in his plans.

Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian are just a few that have struggled for first-team football this season and their futures at Old Trafford look bleak.
With the January transfer window just over a month away, many reports suggest there could be a fire-sale at United with as many as eight players being shown the exit door.

However, according to Manchester Evening News, Mourinho has decided that he only wants to sell one player this January.
That man is Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Until recently, the German midfielder had been prevented from training with the first-team by Mourinho and was even excluded from the annual team photo.
His recent appearances in training has led many people to suggest that he could return to action, but it seems that it is simply to rebuild his fitness ahead of an inevitable move this winter.
But where will Schweinsteiger be heading in January?
Well, he’s assured everyone that it won’t be to another club in Europe and it seems plenty of clubs in the United States are keen on the 32-year-old - most notably Chicago Fire.
Other fringe players
But for other fringe players, M.E.N suggests they will have to ask Mourinho if they desperately want to leave the club this January with the ‘Special One’ insisting he wants to keep the entire squad together until at least next summer.
However, he realises that it’s detrimental to keep a player at the club against his desire and will consider their request if they want to leave for regular first-team football.
However, if Mourinho gets his wish, there will only be one man leaving United this January and it’s a player that has won eight league titles, one Champions League and a World Cup.
Poor old Bastian.
