Gareth Bale might have caused a bit of a stir for when he returns to Real Madrid training this week.

Everyone is well aware of the big egos that currently occupy the Bernabeu dressing room but of course, one character stands out from the rest.

Of all the stars that Zinedine Zidane needs to keep happy, Cristiano Ronaldo would arguably top the list of his most important players.

And his record speaks for itself, 371 goals from 360 appearances is enough to understand why the Spanish giants were so keen to extend his contract at the club until 2021 last week.

Bale has starred in a new advert for Foot Locker fooling around with Manchester United's Anthony Martial.

And Foot Locker also took the opportunity to pose a few questions to the Welsh wizard. They were even able to get a surprising response to the question: 'Who is the greatest player you have played with or played on the pitch?'

“For me the greatest player is Ryan Giggs. He was my hero growing up and is a legend in world football. It also helps he’s a fellow Welshman,” Bale responded, as per The Mirror.

Sorry Ronaldo, but your ex-Man United teammate will forever hold a special place in Bale's heart.

Giggs and Bale only shared the same jersey on two occasions yet both found the back of the net during a 3-0 win for Wales over San Marino in 2007.

In a totally unrelated matter, the former Man United winger prematurely ended his international career later that year which prevented Bale spending any more time with his childhood idol.

Real Madrid's second biggest star has certainly picked up on the mantle Giggs left and some may even argue Bale has surpassed his predecessor's achievements for Wales.

The 27-year-old's performances for Chris Coleman's team at Euro 2016 were nothing short of heroic as Wales bravely reached the semi-finals.

They were beaten by Ronaldo's Portugal team - who went on to win the tournament - a result Bale's Madrid teammate might just remind him of after hearing his latest comments.
