Philippe Coutinho has really stepped up his form for Liverpool this season. With the Reds rocketing to the top of the Premier League table, the diminutive Brazilian has been hailed as a key component behind their rise.
So much so that, perhaps understandably, he has been linked with a move to Barcelona, with even the likes of club legend Xavi talking him up to swap Anfield for the Camp Nou.
However, despite the player himself publicly claiming that he'd like to remain with the Reds, stories claiming that the move could be on have once again come to the fore thanks to the help of one man: Neymar.
According to Brazilian publication UOL Esporte, the Barca man has been having a sly word with the playmaker over a potential switch to Catalonia while the pair were away together on international duty this week.
And not only that, the report is also suggesting that Coutinho is now also considering a move off his own back.
However, it is stated that though Barcelona are believed to be considering a move for the talented 24-year-old, they are yet to make an official approach for his services.
UOL also claim that Barcelona would have a tough time of prying the player away from Anfield as he is still under contract with the Premier League outfit until 2020 and has no release clause in his current deal.
The article also fails to point out just how much Barca would need to cough up in order to land the player's signature.
Philippe's on fire
The links between the two are understandable, though, as Coutinho has been in phenomenal form for the Reds so far this term.
Of his 10 appearances for Liverpool this season he has managed to notch up five goals and five assists, creating a further 30 chances for his teammates.
His partnership with Roberto Firmino has been particularly exciting and manager Jurgen Klopp will certainly be doing everything he can to keep hold of him.
