There’s no doubt that Manchester United’s fear factor has disintegrated since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013.
The Red Devils often had an air of invincibility about them under the legendary Scot but it didn’t take long for that to wear away under David Moyes and then Louis van Gaal.
United, under Ferguson, also had a reputation for always getting the benefit of the doubt when it came to refereeing decisions - particularly at Old Trafford.
On the face of it, that doesn’t seem to happen as much these days, even with Jose Mourinho now in the hot seat.
And one United supporter, angry after a serious of contentious decisions this season, has created a video to prove there is a “#CampaignAgainstUnited”.
Bravo v Rooney
It starts by showing Claudio Bravo’s dangerous challenge on Wayne Rooney which, in the opinion of many, should have resulted in a red card for the Manchester City goalkeeper and a penalty for United.
Martial v Watford
Next it shows the moment Anthony Martial was dispossessed - unfairly, in the opinion of United fans - in the moments before Watford scored their opening goal against Mourinho’s men.
Luiz v Fellaini
It then moves on to David Luiz’s reckless challenge on Marouane Fellaini in the 39th minute of Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over United. Who knows what might have happened had Luiz been sent off.
Darmian and Herrera v Burnley
Matteo Darmian being brought down inside the box during United’s frustrating 0-0 draw with Burnley features next. During the same match, Ander Herrera was shown a red card when replays showed he’s slipped.
Valencia v Monreal
And the video ends with a controversial incident in the first half of United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend.
Antonio Valencia was brought down inside the penalty area following an unorthodox challenge by Nacho Monreal but referee Andre Marriner waved away the penalty appeals.
Unsurprisingly, the video doesn’t show any of the refereeing decisions that have gone in United’s favour this term...
