Revenge was definitely a huge factor behind the Golden State Warriors' 43-point demolition of the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night and it appears their former assistant coach added some fuel to fire too.
Lakers head coach Luke Walton - who spent two years as an assistant to Steve Kerr in Oakland - told reporters before the game that since they were the last team to beat the Warriors, his former team were maybe a little "nervous" heading into their second encounter of the season.
After dropping a season-high 149 points at the Oracle Arena, the Dubs were anything but and looked formidable.
The Lakers probably never stood a chance of winning the game under normal circumstances, but it didn't help that they were on the second night of a back-to-back and were missing key pieces such as D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle.
But that didn't stop Steph Curry - who put up 31 points in the win - from taking a friendly dig at Walton on social media.
The two-time MVP took to Instagram to post a picture with him and Walton laughing together with the caption, "Hey Luke, welcome back to Oracle..."
Of course, the 36-year-old is still highly regarded in the Bay Area and was given a huge ovation in his return after he led the team to a remarkable 24-0 start last year in the absence of Kerr on the bench.
However, Steph couldn't pass up the opportunity to remind him how his first experience back was a miserable one.
Walton, though, won't have to wait long for a chance to get back at his former team as they meet again at Staples Center tomorrow night.
