Kevin Love was in a world of his own on Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena as he dropped a stunning 34 points in the opening 12 minutes - the second highest total in NBA history - of Cleveland's win over Portland.

Love shot a stunning 11-14 from the field - including eight three-pointers - and LeBron James picked up six of his 13 assists on the way to yet another triple-double.

Posting on Instagram, the former Minnesota Timberwolves power forward has said it was LeBron who was able to capitalise on his hot hand throughout the first quarter as the continually drew up plays that ended with Love hoisting a jumper.

He wrote on the social media platform: "Yeah, that first quarter was wild!!! I have the best teammates in the world. From Bron drawing up plays for me in timeouts keeping me locked in, Ky finding me early again and again, TT bumpin boiiii, Swish chest bump and finding me on the bike after the quarter droppin' dimes, JMac and our entire bench going crazy...Champ saying "You Weak"...so much more I could say but man...Love you boyyys!!!"

It was a big night for the third member of Cleveland's big three as he ended the game with his 11th 40-point game of his career. Only Klay Thompson has more points than the UCLA product in one quarter, and Love is going some way to finally establishing himself in Ohio.
