Oldham manager John Sheridan has confirmed they have made an approach for out-of-favour Hull striker Dean Windass.
The 39-year-old has made just two substitute appearances for the Tigers in the Premier League this season, his only start coming in the 2-1 Carling Cup defeat at Swansea in which he scored.
"A lot of people are after Dean but we've made an enquiry and we'll see what comes of it," Sheridan told the Oldham Evening Chronicle.
"I've asked about other players as well and I'm definitely trying to bring a couple in this week -- the players I'm looking at are in higher divisions."
Sheridan has also revealed the reasons behind loaning out forward Craig Davies to Stockport.
He added: "Craig needed a change of scenery and it was my decision to let him go. I know Stockport are in our league but Craig hadn't played much and he was very frustrated. It's a good deal for both parties."
