Since UFC 205, it’s seemed like Khabib Nurmagomedov has continued to run into a brick wall.

He’s tried on numerous occasions to get a response from Conor McGregor, but nothing has come to fruition, other than the Irishman calling him a “pull-out merchant” in his post-fight conference earlier this month.

NURMAGOMEDOV WANTS THE TITLE

Since then, there’s been rant after rant from The Eagle, throwing out every insult you can possibly imagine as he attempts to get a lightweight championship opportunity in 2017.

However, someone has finally spoken out, although it’s not the Notorious.

Due to McGregor’s hiatus plans, the dangerous Dagestani has revealed that he’s interested in an interim title bout with Tony Ferguson next March, with the winner advancing to challenge the undisputed champion.

But judging by El Cucuy’s recent comments, it sounds like Ferguson’s had just about enough of hearing the unbeaten Russian speak.

Speaking on The MMA Hour this week, Ferguson said: “All b******t aside, this guy is a whiny b***h.

“Instead of people saying, ‘hey, you need to go for the belt,’ or, ‘you need to do this, you need to do that’ - - me, I’m waving my little finger in the air, and I f*****g keep moving forward.

“I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing, which is taking care of my family and training my ass off. And that translates into winning and getting Performance of the Night bonuses.

“Right now I got, what, eight finishes out of 12? I’m on a nine-fight win streak. I’m what, 22-3? S**t, where’s my title shot, man? I’m not complaining, I’m not saying nothing, because I know it’s going to come to me.”

EL CUCUY VS. THE EAGLE

Following Nurmagomedov’s challenge to Ferguson for a fight in May, he seems to be on board with it finally happening, considering their last two scheduled bouts fell through due to injuries.

He added: “Like I said before, I’m not going to rob [Nurmagomedov] of an ass-whooping.

“He does deserve one from my hands. Who else is he going to fight? He wants to fight for a belt.

“(Eddie) Alvarez ain’t going to fight him. Come on, dude. That dude’s been running from me for a long time. He hasn’t wanted nothing to do with me. His pops was like the first one to say, ‘yeah, my son will fight you,’ and Khabib’s running the other way.

“He’s calling Conor a chicken and Khabib is running from me, I’m calling him a chicken. So it’s a trickle effect, man.

“I’m telling you; everybody is scared of the Bogeyman at the end.”

Despite not being overly impressive with Nurmagomedov’s performance against Michael Johnson, it makes sense for both fighters to stand opposite each other next based on the impressive win streaks they’re on.
