The majority of Liverpool fans may not have known much about Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold before this week. But, after last night's impressive 2-0 win over Leeds in the EFL Cup, the two teenagers are fast becoming household names.
Alexander-Arnold produced an inch-perfect cross to set up Divock Origi's crucial opener on Tuesday night, whilst Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest ever goalscorer when, at just 17 years and 45 days old, he scored the Premier League club's second of the night.
Although Jurgen Klopp is keen to reign in the hype surrounding both teenagers, you can't blame Liverpool fans for getting excited about what is to come. And that excitement will only increase after footage from 2015 has surfaced, showing the academy duo ripping apart a Manchester United Under 18 side that included the likes of Marcus Rashford.

Given that Woodburn and Alexander-Arnold's combined age is just 35, their impressive performances in the Liverpool first-team so far will, inevitably, have supporters on Merseyside dreaming of the pair playing a role in a successful starting XI for years to come.
As always with success at Anfield, that will be judged, in part, by how the club fare against long-time rivals Manchester United. Judging by the below video, Alexander-Arnold and Woodburn already have some impressive history when it comes to the fixture.

Lining up in a Liverpool U18 team for a October, 2015 fixture against their United counterparts, the two youngsters played a big role in their team's dominant 4-0 win.
Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool's captain on the day, helped himself to two well taken goals in a more advanced right-wing role. Whilst, still two weeks away from his 16th birthday, Woodburn provided three assists.
Considering the result, the full 10-minute long video is worth a watch for any Liverpool fan but the key moments can be seen at the following times:
- Woodburn nearly winning penalty (3:00)
- Brilliant combination for Liverpool's first goal (3:25)
- Woodburn fouled by United's goalkeeper (4:35)
- Woodburn skinning a United defender (5:25)
- Great chance for Alexander-Arnold (7:15)
- Woodburn second assist (7:35)
- Woodburn assists Alexander-Arnold's second (9:45)
With Marcus Rashford and Timothy Fosu-Mensah both in that United team, you can't argue about the quality of the opposition either.
Now, one year on, Liverpool fans would love to see both players repeat their stunning performance if either of them are involved when the first team travel to Old Trafford on January 15.
