Yaya Toure was unquestionably one of the most complete footballers the game has ever seen when he was in his prime.

The Ivorian was close to unstoppable if given the chance to hit top speed and barge past would-be tacklers with his frightening strength.

Even at 33-years-old, Toure is still an incredibly well-rounded player in terms of his physicality, technique and leadership – but he certainly is not what he used to be.

It feels like a long time has gone by since we last saw the former Barcelona star charge into opposition territory before unleashing a perfect strike into the back of the net.

Those kind of moments are what personified Toure as a complete player – now he has taken the time to build his own ‘ultimate’ footballer by combining several of his former friends and foes.

Speaking to Manchester City media, this is what the Ivory Coast legend came up with.

Vision – Xavi

The Manchester City midfielder picks his old Barcelona colleague as the player with best vision – surely an obvious answer for anyone who has played with the four-time Champions League winner.

Captain – Carles Puyol

Continuing the Catalan theme, Toure selects Puyol as the greatest leader he has ever had the privilege of being led by.

Stamina – Davy Theunis

Who? The winger played alongside Toure at Beveren in Belgium and is apparently the fittest player he has come across during his career.

Quickest – Raheem Sterling

An interesting one when you consider Toure has played alongside Thierry Henry, Jesus Navas and Lionel Messi, but Sterling has done enough to convince him he is the fastest of them all.

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City - Premier League

Left foot – Lionel Messi

A pointless question for anyone who has even watched Messi play, though Toure had the added benefit of witnessing him use his magical left foot during his Barcelona days.

Right foot – Sergio Aguero

Aguero is almost certainly the best player Toure has played with at the Etihad, so it is perhaps no surprise he picks him as the man with the best right foot he has ever seen.

Passion – Joe Hart

Citing some of dressing pep talks in his answer, Toure believes he has never seen a player more passionate than the England ‘keeper.

FC Torino v AC ChievoVerona - Serie A

Strength – Vincent Kompany

While Toure himself might have a decent shout in this category, he reckons there is no player more powerful than the Belgium international.

Header – Didier Drogba

Toure says no player can head the ball like Drogba, and he has certainly provided a catalogue of examples to back up the title.
