By now, we all know that CM Punk and the WWE had an acrimonious parting of the ways back in 2014.
Since then, Punk - real name Phil Brooks - has embarked on what can loosely be called a UFC career, which thus far constitutes as a solitary loss to Micky Gall at UFC 203.
Whether Punk will set foot in the octagon again or not remains to be seen, but to many fans, the bigger question that remains is whether or not he will set foot in a WWE ring again.

The 38-year-old hasn't given any indications that he is angling for a return or would even entertain one in the future, and according to some of his close friends, that goes for them too.
Colt Cabana is a legend on the independent circuit and was famously brought up when Punk dropped his 'pipebomb' promo back in 2011. Cabana has flirted with the company several times down the years, most notably from 2007-2009, but a comeback seemed on the cards prior to Punk's departure in 2014.
Cabana told the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast: “They call me back and nothing happens. And I do a second one and I think I did really well and then, eight months, nothing happened. Eight months later, they start sending me down to NXT for three weekends in a row.”
"At that time, so what happened was, after the third week, and then, the fourth week, Punk ended up leaving. And then, the day after, I got a call saying, ‘I don’t think we’re interested.'”
Does Vince McMahon hold a grudge? That's not for us to say, but one thing that is for sure, Caban is unlikely to see the inside of a WWE ring again.
