Liverpool are rumoured to be looking to add to their striking options in the January transfer window by lining up a £20million move for Celtic frontman Moussa Dembele.
A report in Glasgow Live claims that the Reds would be willing to offer £10m up front with an additional £10m added in bonuses and add-ons.
Though Roberto Firmino has begun the season in strong form, Daniel Sturridge has struggled to hit the goal trail in any meaningful way and injury has robbed the side of Danny Ings for the second successive campaign, forcing Klopp to look at possible options for bolstering his frontline.
And Dembele has certainly made himself an attractive proposition. Since joining the SPL giants over the summer he has found the net 17 times already this season.
And it is that form that has apparently prompted Klopp to send scouts to keep an eye on the young Frenchman on no less than five occasions.
The Glasgow Live report states that Dembele currently earns around £15,000-per-week at Celtic, but Liverpool will look to put him on a starting wage of £60,000-per-week in order to tempt him to Anfield.
However, Celtic know that the player is happy at the club and will be hopeful that an almost uncontested place in their starting XI will help persuade him to shun Liverpool's advances.
Dembele rejected offers from the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal when he left Fulham over the summer, and the Scottish side will be confident when it comes to any potential bidding war.
However, with Liverpool's problems up front highlighted above, Klopp sees the 20-year-old as an automatic starter, and while he is happy at Celtic for the time being, he will undoubtedly have greater ambitions for his career.
Certainly, the prospect of him linking up with Roberto Firmino, who is often deployed in the false 9 role is a mouth-watering thought, and with game time seemingly not an issue at Anfield, Dembele may think so too.
Celtic had been preparing themselves for some heavy interest in the player over the summer, but Liverpool are keen to get a jump on any potential transfer rivals by making their move in the new year.
