Grimsby have signed Darlington striker Adam Proudlock on a two-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old will join the Mariners in time for this weekend's FA Cup game with Morecambe and if Proudlock impresses Town boss Mike Newell, then the move could become permanent in January.

Proudlock, who's former clubs include Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves and Ipswich, has been signed by Newell in a bid to improve the Mariners wretched run of form that has not seen them win since March.

He has played 11 times for the Quakers this season but has failed to find the back of the net.
