Coca-Cola League One strugglers Swindon have parted company with manager Maurice Malpas by mutual consent.

The Robins sit 17th in the table, three points above the relegation zone, and were dumped out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle by Conference side Histon last Saturday.

Town also bowed out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy following a 2-0 defeat at Brighton in the Southern Area quarter-finals.

Assistant manager David Byrne will take over first-team affairs for the home clash with top-of-the-table Leicester on Saturday.
