Crewe have completed the loan signing of Blackpool midfielder Stuart Green until December 21.

The 27-year-old began his career at Newcastle but failed to make the breakthrough at St James` Park, finally making his Football League debut during a loan spell at Carlisle in 2001.

Green also played for Hull and Crystal Palace before joining Blackpool in February 2008 but his only appearance this season came as a second-half substitute in the Carling Cup defeat at Macclesfield in August.

Meanwhile, striker Tom Pope has pledged his future to the club by signing a two-year extension to his contract.

Pope, who will remain at Gresty Road until the summer of 2011, told the club's official website: "I want to stay here because Crewe is a great club and I'm learning something every day and I feel I`m improving all the time."
