Bodde to miss rest of season

Published Add your comment

Swansea have been hit by the news that influential midfielder Ferrie Bodde is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 26-year-old Dutchman was stretchered off in the first half of Friday night's 3-2 Coca-Cola Championship defeat at home Birmingham and an MRI scan has confirmed the severity of his injury.

Swans physio Richie Evans told the club's official website: "Ferrie has ruptured his cruciate ligament and torn his cartilage in his left knee. Although he will see another consultant next week, he will be out for around six months."

He added: "It will rule him out for the rest of the season and everyone, including Ferrie, is devastated."

Bodde has already notched seven league goals for the Swans this term, sparking reported interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
