Pav strike downs 10-man Rovers

Published Add your comment

Roman Pavlyuchenko's first-half strike lifted Tottenham out of the Premier League relegation zone and plunged 10-man Blackburn deeper into trouble after a 1-0 result at White Hart Lane.

Martin Olsson was guilty of an error in the build-up to Pavlyuchenko's sixth of the season, and the Rovers full-back's wretched afternoon was finished off when he was dismissed for two bookings.

Both offences were fouls on Aaron Lennon, who set up Pavlyuchenko's strike and showed the sort of form that took him to the World Cup for England in 2006.
