Everton boss David Moyes has praised the contribution Phil Jagielka has made to the club's recent resurgence.
The Merseysiders are on a five-match unbeaten run and Jagielka's defensive performances have played a large part in pushing Everton up to seventh position in the league.
Moyes said: "He has played very well and I think for the good part of a year now he has been in really consistent form and he has been a consistent performer for us."
"We have been really pleased by him and I think now he is finding his feet at the club and is feeling more settled and he is one of Everton's best players at this present time."
He has been an ever present in the back four so far this term and Moyes now believes the former Sheffield United defender is fulfilling the potential that convinced Everton to pay £4million for him last July.
And Moyes is tipping Jagielka to become an even better performer now that he realises he is an integral member of the Goodison Park set-up.
He added: "I think he didn't maybe establish himself until this time last year and it just shows you that you have to be patient and that's what happens to players when you come to a new club.
"Sometimes you hit the ground running and sometimes it takes a little bit of time and in his case it took a little bit of time but now he is up and running and doing really well."
