New Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has been described as a "breath of fresh air" by Hornets defender Jay DeMerit.
Rodgers will take charge for the first time when Watford host Doncaster after succeeding Aidy Boothrowd at Vicarage Road, and DeMerit believes he can make an instant impact.
DeMerit told the Watford Observer: "I look at it as a breath of fresh air. Just like when Aidy came in, it was like 'Who's Aidy Boothroyd' and within a year we were in the Premiership."
He added: "I think sometimes those types of situations can be very positive. You don't have a reputation that precedes you, you have to make up your own reputation in the first year. I know Brendan knows that. I know he knows that he hopefully will have success in his first year and make a name for himself as a manager.
"If there's anything that Brendan has done, he's come in with a point and it's to get the ball down and play and keep doing what we've been doing the past couple of weeks."
