Notts County manager Ian McParland admitted he was impressed with Kettering after they earned an FA Cup replay with his side following Sunday's 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane.
But the County boss felt the failure of his players to take their chances cost them a chance of victory.
He said: "I'm a bit frustrated with the way things went. It was a tough game but it was always going to be."
He added: "They are well organised and throw the ball into the box at every opportunity but I thought we just about shaded it on chances.
"We had two really good ones in the second half when Delroy Facey had a shot saved and Sean Canham put the rebound over the top and it was unfortunate we couldn't take either of them.
"The game got a bit Cup tie-ish with lots of long balls but we live to fight another day.
"It wasn't easy for us especially after losing two players with injury Richard Butcher had to go to hospital for an x-ray on a foot and Jay Smith needed to come off to have stitches in a head wound."
The winners of the replay will face a home clash against Eastwood Town.
