Sports fans want nothing more than for Michael Schumacher to make a full recovery from his tragic skiing accident in the French Alps three years ago.
The Formula One great spent six months in a medically induced coma and to this day his overall condition remains largely unknown.
But while every day spent not knowing his exact well-being is a sad one, today was not one of those days.
Instead, it was a day to remember the good times - for today is Schumacher's 48th birthday.
Friends, fans and fellow professionals all took to social media today to wish the German well on his special day, despite the fact he remains hidden from the public eye in his home in Geneva.
Countryman Michael Ballack was one of many to dedicate a touching tweet to Schumacher, though the former Chelsea midfielder's was particularly heartwarming.
In fact, you might go as far to say it was pretty perfect (see below).
Alongside a picture of himself with Schumacher, Ballack wrote: "Happy birthday @schumacher... Stay strong, take the time you need and #KeepFightingMichael @ScuderiaFerrari."
Lukas Podolski sent a similarly lovely tweet to Schumacher, with old nemesis and friend Mika Hakkinen also sharing a few words for the seven-time Formula One world champion.
#KeepFightingMichael, and happy birthday.
