Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has not been approached about the Sunderland job, according to his agent Athole Still.
Strachan, who has led the Parkhead club to three successive Clydesdale Bank Premier League titles and two appearances in the last-16 of the Champions League, has been mentioned as one of the contenders to replace Roy Keane, who resigned earlier this month.
But Still claims any link with the former Coventry and Southampton manager is merely speculation. "There has neither been an approach from our side nor any approach from Sunderland," he told the Daily Telegraph. "It's just speculation."
