Former Birmingham and Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield has joined League Two side Lincoln on a week's trial.
The 35-year-old was given the all-clear after surgery for testicular cancer earlier this month and is believed to be on the lookout for a new club following his release from Sheffield United over the summer.
Horsfield, who most recently had loan spells with Leicester, Leeds and Scunthorpe, joined up with Peter Jackson's side on Monday afternoon.
He told the Lincolnshire Echo: ""I'm going to train for the week, see what happens and then have a chat with Jacko (Peter Jackson).
"To be honest I need a good two or three weeks (to get fit), I really do. I've got to get fit because this has come out of the blue. I haven't done any training for nine weeks."
He added: "I've known Jacko for years from our Halifax days. We've always got on well. When he got throat cancer, I gave him a ring to see how he was feeling and he did exactly the same with me when I was diagnosed with mine."
