Laws - Beevers going nowhere

Published Add your comment

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has rubbished speculation linking teenage defender Mark Beevers with a move to Bolton.

It had been reported the 19-year-old centre-half, contracted to Hillsborough until 2012, had already struck a deal with the Premier League club.

But Laws said: "There is absolutely nothing in that whatsoever and I can categorically tell you that.

"There's been no contact from the football club whatsoever. Beevers is going nowhere and neither is (Richard) Wood or (Tommy) Spurr.

"We want to build a team around them and we've already stated we don't have to sell.

"We are in a financial position where we don't have to sell and that is a positive."
