Rising star Josh Payne has left Cheltenham and returned to West Ham having completed his three-month loan spell at Whaddon Road.
The midfielder, 18, has lived up to his potential during his temporary stay at the League One club, putting in a string of sterling display's for Martin Allen's side.
Boss Allen added in the Gloucestershire Echo: "I love the boy and I can't heap praise on him enough."
He added: "We all appreciate what he has done and he has come out of the comfort life of Premiership surroundings."
Payne, who has stressed he would consider returning to Cheltenham in the future if he is again sent out by his parent club, made 13 appearances for the Robins and scored one goal, his debut strike in the 2-2 draw against Stockport.
His return to West Ham comes just days after central defender Michael Townsend extended his loan at League Two Barnet into a third month.
