Taylor could fit for England

Bolton manager Gary Megson sees no reason why Matthew Taylor cannot force his way into Fabio Capello's England plans.

Taylor, 27, has scored five Barclays Premier League goals and emerged as a key figure for the Trotters this season and Megson believes the left-sided midfielder has the ability required to make the grade at international level.

Megson said: "Matty has got five goals already this season and he's not played in all the games by any means. His set-piece deliveries are as good as anyone in the country and his work-rate is probably better than anyone else's in the country."

He added: "He's a player playing at the top of his game at the moment so, if anyone from England came and wanted to put Matty in the squad, then I don't think he would let them down at all."
