Hoyte to join Hornets

Watford have agreed the signing of England Under-21 defender Gavin Hoyte from Arsenal.

The 18-year-old, who can play anywhere across the back-line, will join the struggling Championship side on loan for the rest of the season and is eligible to play in their FA Cup third-round tie with Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Hoyte, who has impressed as Arsenal's reserve-team captain and has featured in all three of the Gunners' Carling Cup ties this season, has been brought in by boss Brendan Rodgers to shore up his leaky defence.
