Bristol City have confirmed the signing of Slovakian striker Peter Styvar from MSK Zilina for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal at Ashton Gate after a successful trial.

Manager Gary Johnson told the club`s official website: "I've brought Peter here to be a goalscoring forward in the Championship for us. You can never have enough of them on your books competing for places."

He added: "He's a different type of striker to those already on our books and people will see that.

"He is a predator who has scored goals throughout his career and he's done very well for his club (Zilina) for the past couple of seasons."
