Mooney heads out on loan

Reading striker David Mooney has joined League One Stockport on a month's loan.

Mooney moved to the Royals from Cork City in August and made two Carling Cup appearances, but his progress has been hampered by injury, most recently an ankle problem suffered for the reserves in November.

Having returned to full fitness, Mooney will be hoping to gain first-team experience and could make his debut against Cheltenham on Tuesday.

Youngster Tom Hateley has extended his stay with Basingstoke until January 17.
