McGeady fires Hoops through

Published Add your comment

Aiden McGeady returned from his club ban in spectacular fashion to fire Celtic past Dundee 2-1 in their Homecoming Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at Parkhead.

Artur Boruc's fresh-air swipe at a long ball from David O'Brien in the 14th minute allowed Colin McMenamin to put the Irn-Bru First Division side ahead but in the 37th minute Scott Brown levelled from close range.

With a minute remaining of the first half, McGeady, back for the first time since his two-week ban for a dressing-room row with boss Gordon Strachan, curled a shot past Dundee goalkeeper Rab Douglas to take the home side in to the next round.
