Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has apologised to his team-mates for being suspended for the back-to-back derby clashes with Liverpool.

The Belgium international will sit out the Barclays Premier League game on Monday and the FA Cup tie having collected his 10th booking of the season in the victory against Hull at the weekend.

Fellaini told evertonTV: "I have apologised to my team-mates because they are two big games against Liverpool and I will not be there to help out."

He added: "It is always difficult watching games from the stand but I will be rooting for them.

"I did everything I could not to get yellow cards but then I got another one."
