Charlton manager Phil Parkinson believes Gillingham transfer target Chris Dickson will be reluctant to drop down to League Two level.

Gills boss Mark Stimson has made little secret of his desire to bring the 24-year-old back to Priestfield after he put in a transfer request earlier this season.

But Parkinson told the Addicks' official website: "Gillingham have rung me but Chris has turned down loan moves to League One clubs, and as much as he enjoyed his time at Gillingham, with the greatest respect, I don't think he's going to go back to League Two.

"He has set his sights on a top League One club or a lower Championship club. We have had calls from League One clubs about loan moves but he's decided not to go there."
