Dann set for sidelines

Scott Dann's hopes of marking his birthday with a return from injury for Coventry's FA Cup clash at Blackburn appear to have been dashed by a bout of illness.

The defender, who will turn 22 on Saturday, has recovered from the dislocated shoulder he suffered in the Championship defeat at Reading on December 1.

However, he missed a friendly run-out against Aston Villa on Tuesday and will now remain sidelined for City's fifth round tie at Ewood Park.

"It is disappointing that he couldn't play because I don't want to put him back into the first-team fold until he has had 90 minutes in the reserves," said manager Chris Coleman.

"We had organised a training game against Aston Villa specifically for him but unfortunately he was ill."
