Fellow promotion-hopefuls Bradford drew 0-0 with Darlington while Shrewsbury moved into fourth with a 1-0 win over Chester and Rochdale conceded a last-minute goal in a 1-1 draw with Morecambe.

Gillingham squandered a 3-1 lead to draw 4-4 with Aldershot while Macclesfield and Notts County played out a 1-1 draw.
