Blackpool caretaker manager Tony Parkes is confident his side can stave off the threat of relegation from the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Seasiders were thumped 4-1 at Derby on Wednesday and lie six points above the relegation zone ahead of Saturday's home clash with fellow strugglers Watford.

Parkes' own future also look uncertain but the former Blackburn boss believes he can steer the Bloomfield Road club to safety, and said: "I feel we can get away from the bottom three and that would be a success for this club."

He added: "We've been in these positions before and we brush ourselves down and get ready for the next game."
