Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson received both good and bad injury news in the wake of the 1-0 home triumph over Carlisle.

Defender Gabriel Zakuani escaped a serious neck injury but recent signing Lee Frecklington faces a lengthy spell out with a pulled hamstring.

"We're all mightily relieved that Gaby hasn't suffered a fracture and we are told he should only be out for one or two weeks," Ferguson said. "Lee's injury is certainly a bigger concern because he was just starting to do well after coming in from Lincoln."

However, it was not all bad for Ferguson who saw his side take all three points following Aaron McLean's 69th-minute strike. He added: "I told the lads at half-time that we would win the game if we kept a clean sheet. It was just a case of taking one of the chances that would come our way and Aaron did just that.

"The players all have the bit between their teeth and are determined not to waste the position we're in."
