Pericard set for surgery

Published Add your comment

Millwall striker Vincent Pericard has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles which will require surgery.

The Cameroonian, a recent loan acquisition from Stoke, was stretchered out of Tuesday night`s 3-1 win at Cheltenham.

A scan has confirmed the extent of the injury which is likely to sideline him for at least four months.

Lions boss Kenny Jackett said: "It`s desperately disappointing for Vincent, who is out of contract at the end of the season and was keen to show what he can do at Millwall.

"I thought on Tuesday he was beginning to show what an asset he could have been for us over the next few weeks and clearly he will be a loss."
