Preston winger Simon Whaley believes maintaining a positive attitude can help him to remain a part of the club's promotion bid.

North End have not been in the top flight of English football since 1961 but they are looking a strong bet to finish in the play-off places.

"Football is a strange game. One week you can be rock bottom and think your career is over, the next you are on top of your game," Whaley said. "But if I can go into each game with such a positive attitude it shouldn't be a problem."
