Drogba strike keeps Blues in hunt

Published Add your comment

Chelsea closed the gap on Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United thanks to a 79th-minute strike by Didier Drogba which game them a 1-0 win over Portsmouth.

The Ivorian pounced to curl a low right-footed shot into the corner of the net, after Portsmouth had failed to clear a Jose Bosingwa cross.

Pompey squandered two great second-half chances to earn a vital win. But Guus Hiddink's fourth straight success as Chelsea boss puts them just four points behind United, who have two games in hand on the Blues.
