Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell stressed the three points which kept their play-off challenge firmly on track at Coventry were more important than setting a new club record.

Goals from defenders Leigh Bromby and Chris Morgan secured a 2-1 win at the Ricoh Arena and saw the Blades register a record 12th away league game unbeaten.

But Blackwell said: "I did realise it was a record - 120 years old - but the win matters more."

He added: "It is an important win but they are all important wins at this stage of the season with the position we are in.

"Coming to the form team in the division we knew it was going to be tough but my lads rolled their sleeves up when they needed to."
